Inter star Alessandro Bastoni has hinted towards his future at the club, stating that he would be willing to throw himself into the fire for the club and his teammates.
The Italian was vital to the Nerazzurri’s Serie A, as Inter beat Milan 2-1 in the Serie A on Monday to seal the Scudetto for the 20th time in their history. Bastoni started in the game and he was vital for Inter throughout the season, showing how far he has come from his first Scudetto win under Antonio Conte.
Bastoni has been linked with moves away from Inter in the past but he has stayed loyal. In an interview with Il Giornale (via Sky Italia), the 25-year-old once again committed his future to the new Serie A champions, referring to the team as his ‘second family.
“Winning with Inter is the best thing , it represents a lot. We have made many sacrifices in recent years and suffered many disappointments. But now I look at the team, the staff and I feel that it is my second family. And I would throw myself into the fire for this family, I would throw myself into the fire.”
Bastoni also looked back on last summer when he Inter lost multiple players but had to rebuild and they have now won the Serie A again.
“12 teammates had left and we were afraid of having weakened ourselves because we didn’t know who would arrive. Instead the new ones, in addition to being strong, had a great desire to do. We were sure of the talent, but you don’t know about the human aspect. Now I can say that they are truly fantastic guys both on and off the pitch , an incredible harmony has been created between old and new.”
Beppe Marotta’s excellent recruitment and ability to spot the right players has been vital to Inter’s title win and recent success and it can never be understated.
