Atalanta will aim to stay in the race to qualify for the Champions League next season when they face relegated Salernitana at the Stadio Arechi.
Since losing 1-0 against Liverpool in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals, Atalanta have mustered an unbeaten run of four consecutive matches across all competitions. Victories over Monza and Empoli helped them consolidate the foundation of a late charge for a fifth-placed finish while securing a berth in the Coppa Italia finals with a comeback 4-1 win over Fiorentina in the return leg of the semis. Gian Piero Gasperini is set to start the trident of Aleksei Miranchuk, Ademola Lookman and El Bilal Toure in attack. Marco Carnesecchi should return between the sticks.
Meanwhile, Salernitana will play for pride against La Dea as their relegation from the top division was confirmed after that 3-0 defeat to Frosinone. The Granata’s last won when the club was managed by Filippo Inzaghi in 2023 and they are the only side across Europe’s top five leagues yet to earn a victory this year. Current coach Stefano Colantuono will not have it easy in the last few matchdays of the season as his team will face the likes of Juventus, Verona and Milan.
Salernitana (3-4-2-1): Costil; Fazio, Manolas, Pirola; Sambia, Coulibaly, Basic, Bradaric; Tchaouna, Candreva; Ikwuemesi.
Atalanta (3-4-2-1): Carnesecchi; Djimsiti, Hien, Scalvini; Hateboer, Ederson, Pasalic, Bakker; Miranchuk, Lookman; Touré.
