Former Serie A champions Napoli consider Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to be untransferable this summer and have held a new meeting for a potential renewal.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported today that Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis had a meeting with Kvaratskhelia’s father earlier in May and his agent was also present during the meeting. Talks were positive and Napoli were keen on putting forward the point that they want to hand a player a new deal and they will not sell him in the summer.
De Laurentiis wants to hand Kvaratskhelia the sort of contract that fulfills his role in the side and the demands of the player’s entourage are at €5 million per season, with Napoli currently at €4 million per season including bonuses. Kvaratskhelia wants his future to be defined before he plays at the Euros.
There is pressure from other clubs, with Barcelona having been in contact with the player’s agent for some months now. Manchester City have also previously made contact and Paris Saint-Germain are also keeping tabs on the player. For De Laurentiis and Napoli, the Georgian is untransferable and only in the event of huge offers would they open up to selling him.
