Former Milan striker now Senior Advisor to club owners RedBird, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, is determined to bring Atletico Madrid frontman Alvaro Morata to the club this summer.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the Rossoneri have identified the 31-year-old Spanish international as a primary target in the current window.
As the player prepares for Tuesday’s Euro 2024 semi-final against France, Ibrahimovic has convinced club chiefs that the former Juventus marksman, who scored 35 times in 130 appearances for The Old Lady, is the right choice to replace Olivier Giroud, who left the club at the end of last season.
Morata recently stated that he wanted to stay in the Spanish capital to win a major trophy with the Colchoneros before his current deal expires in 2026, but Sky Sport claims that Atleti are already lining up a possible replacement in the shape of Girona striker and last seasons top scorer in La Liga, Artem Dovbyk.
