Former French international defender Raphael Varane is weighing up the possibility of a summer move to Serie A new boys Como.
The 31-year-old is out of contract following three years in the English Premier League with Manchester United with Gianluca Di Marzio reporting that the player, along with his agent, visited Italy over the weekend to talk to representatives of the club from Lombardy.
Varane however, is aware of interest from Serie A giants Roma, Saudi Arabia and from the MLS and is taking time to make a final decision.
The Frenchman, who is officially a free-agent from July 1, has vast experience including a trophy laden 10 year spell at Real Madrid. He has also represented his country 93 times and was part of France’s 2018 World Cup winning squad in Russia.
Como has already secured the signature of Italian striker Andrea Belotti and Cagliari defender Alberto Dossena as they look to try to remain in the top-flight next season following their return after more than 20 years.
