Juventus man Federico Chiesa has revealed that he is ‘sad’ to leave on these terms, as he now gears up for his move to Liverpool.
The Italian is now set to join Liverpool on a permanent deal, as he is set to sign a four-year contract and there is already an agreement between the two clubs about the fee. The Reds have done the deal quickly, sealing it in a matter of days and beating Barcelona in the process.
As he heads to Liverpool for his medical with the club, Chiesa spoke to Gianluca di Marzio’s reporters, as he met Juve fans for one last time at the Turin airport.
He said: “Ready to begin this new adventure, I wanted to say goodbye to the Juventus fans . Thank you for your affection and for these years, I will carry you in my heart and thanks to Juventus . Is it sad to leave Juve like this? It’s sad but I’m really happy for this new adventure . I’m really happy and my family and I can’t wait.”
Chiesa’s exit is indeed sad, as his ACL injury led to multiple muscle injuries and he didn’t have a great relationship with Max Allegri, leading to him not being used enough. And now, he was frozen out of the project by Thiago Motta, who didn’t see him as a key part of the project and he was excluded from the club’s squad.
