Former Serie A champions Napoli can now look to sell goalkeeper Alex Meret this summer.
La Repubblica have reported that Antonio Conte is not a fan of the Italian and wants to sell him. Conte wants another goalkeeper with a different profile to make him his first-choice between the sticks.
Meret’s error in possession against Girona didn’t go unnoticed in the eyes of Conte and that is a general weakness of his as well. Club sporting director Giovanni Manna is already looking at potential names that could be signed as a replacement for Meret, who can now be sold.
His current deal runs out in the summer of 2025 and that is why the next few days will be decisive, when it comes to his situation. Napoli would want to sell him this summer and earn a fee from a player who has never quite always impressed between the sticks.
