Just as it seemed like the Nerazzurri’s summer mercato was complete, Inter are set to enter a full pursuit for promising Argentinian defender Tomas Palacios.
Milanese journal La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that sporting director Beppe Marotta would be willing to submit an offer of no more than €6m for the 21-year-old central defender.
At the moment, Palacios belongs to Talleres, but is currently on loan to Independiente Rivadavia. Hence, the first obstacle for the Nerazzurri would be having to reach common terms with two clubs regarding the acquisition of the Argentine defender.
Whilst both clubs faced each other within the domestic league, Palacios sat out from the fixture to avoid any conflicts of interest, as well as the fact that the defender is seeking a move towards Europe.
Independiente coach Marco Cicotello has publicly announced that he would have no intentions to block Palacios’ exit and would permit the Argentine to permanently leave.
Palacios has received several offers from Bundesliga outfits. However, the young stud only has Inter on his mind, with Nerazzurri president Javier Zanetti playing a pivotal role in convincing him to join the Beneamata within the near future.
