Premier Giorgia Meloni on Saturday
said this year the South was Italy’s economic engine.
“This year, the South has been Italy’s economic locomotive,
contrary to the past years when it was nearly always lagging
behind”, the prime minister noted in a video message sent for
the inauguration of the Fiera di Levante trade fair in the
Puglia city of Bari.
“We wanted to trace a new and clear direction and we intend to
follow it by giving companies and citizens of Mezzogiorno the
concrete possibility of proving their worth”, the premier said.
