With the Serie A set to resume in a weeks time following the international break, Napoli coach Antonio Conte has a lot of reflecting to do on his part as he evaluates his options whilst preparing to face Cagliari in match-week 4 of the 2024/25 season.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, via TMW, that following the acquisitions that were sealed towards the end of the mercato, it is expected that the Italian tactician will stick to his traditional 3-4-2-1 set-up.
The former Inter boss could deploy the two Scottish internationals Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour in midfield, David Neres and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia out-wide, and Belgian marksman Romelu Lukaku up-top.
In addition, Conte can stick with Stanislav Lobotka and Franck Anguissa at the middle of the pitch and could use Matteo Politano or Giacomo Raspadori either out-wide or even up-top as the sole striker, whilst taking into consideration Giovanni Simeone as well.
As per the defence, Conte is expected to keep David Meret in-between the sticks and plot Alessandro Buongiorno, Amir Rrahmani, and Giovanni Di Lorenzo as the back-three. Mathias Olivera and Pasquale Mazzocchi are for-seen to keep their spots out-wide.
