Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi was by far the best Italian player in the latest Serie A round, followed by Inter’s Federico Dimarco and Nicolò Barella and Como’s Alessandro Gabrielloni.
Atalanta goalkeeper Carnesecchi has emerged as the best Italian performer in Serie A Round 16.
The 24-year-old contributed to a crucial 1-0 away win in Cagliari with some vital saves, and his average player rating on Italian sports papers (via Fantacalcio) was 8/10, more than any other Italian player.
Only Inter’s Denzel Dumfries received such a high mark from Italian newspapers. The Dutch defender was the MOTM in a 6-0 away victory at Lazio on Monday, but his Italian teammates Barella and Dimarco were just below with a 7.5/10 ranking.
Como striker Gabrielloni scored and assisted in the Azzurri’s 2-0 win over Roma and received the same rating as Dimarco and Barella.
The other Italian players completing the top 8 in the previous Serie A round are Nicolò Zaniolo (Atalanta), Alessandro Bastoni (Inter), Stefano Turati (Monza) and Diego Coppola (Verona).
