Perugia, Soli: “It was a true showcase for Italian and world volleyball.”
“It was a match of rare intensity, from the first to the last point, and the many cramp incidents experienced by the players throughout the game show how much everyone gave their all to win it,” said Itas Trentino’s coach Fabio Soli after the match. “We saw an almost extreme level of volleyball: we managed to play at our maximum capacity, as we had promised to do before the game. It was a spectacular match that gave great emotions to a passionate crowd, and we must be proud to have played it until the end in this way. Despite a few too many mistakes, which are understandable, it was a true showcase for Italian and world volleyball. Thanks to all the players who stepped onto the court on both sides of the net; my team did something truly special tonight, and that will stay with us in our hearts, beyond any statistical significance or standings.”
Itas Trentino will stay in Perugia for the night and then travel to Pisa on Monday afternoon to continue their journey toward Romania, which they will reach with a direct flight. In Brașov, on Wednesday, January 15, they will play the first leg of the 2025 CEV Cup Play-Offs (4:30 PM, live on Radio Dolomiti) against the National Champions of CSM Corona. The next domestic match is on Sunday, January 19, at 5 PM at ilT quotidiano Arena against Grottazzolina (17th round).
