Napoli are closing in on Italian international defender Alessandro Buongiorno, with the two parties currently trying to reach an amicable agreement.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio (via calcionapoli24.it), the 25-year-old Torino centre-half will arrive at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona for a fee in the region of €35M, with Napoli now keen to discuss personal terms to get the deal over the line in the coming hours.
Sporting Director, Giovanni Manna has stepped up his pursuit of the player, with Di Marzio reporting that negotiations will continue through Wednesday as they try to reach an agreement.
Buongiorno, who has a current deal with Torino until 2028, had an excellent season last year making 29 appearances, scoring three goals and making one assist.
Many observers were surprised that Italy boss, Luciano Spalletti, overlooked him for the knockout stages at Euro 2024, as the Azzurri crashed out in the Round of the last 16 to Switzerland.
