Premier League giants Chelsea have recently failed in a move for Juventus’ Federico Chiesa but they could return to the fold again.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that a swap deal was attempted involving Chiesa and Raheem Sterling but it didn’t come to fruition. Both clubs spoke about the potential move yesterday but the deal collapsed due to the difference in player valuations and wages. There was also an issue of player registration.

Having said that, this isn’t the end of Chelsea’s interest in Chiesa. They could return to make a move for him separately but for that, they would have to sell Raheem Sterling first.

Sterling could yet join Juve in a separate deal and Chiesa’s future remains uncertain and both could yet materialise in different transfers. The last few days are going to be crucial and will decide where both players will go, with Chiesa also linked with Tottenham and Roma.
