After withdrawing from the QF match in the Madrid Open, Jannik Sinner pulled out his name from his home tournament in Rome. This raised a doubt in the mind of the tennis fans, that probably the in-form Italian tennis star may well be deprived of stepping onto the court in Roland Garros. He is currently continuing his recovery process from a hip injury he picked up at the Madrid Open. But as things look like as of now, there is some positive news coming out from the Italian camp. Jannik Sinner’s coach Darren Cahill nearly confirmed the Italian’s participation at Roland Garros.

Janiik Sinner had earlier said, “At Roland Garros, I’ll only play if I’m 100 per cent, if there’s any doubt we have to see.” And now, the 58-year-old tennis coach recently put up an interesting post on his Instagram account. He put a picture of three ‘Roland Garros’ balls placed on a tennis racquet on a clay court surface. Cahill captioned that post stating, “Terre Battue” which means clay in French or indicating the iconic clay court tournament.

For those who are unaware, tennis commentator Rob Koeing had earlier accused Jannik Sinner’s other coach, Simone Vagnozzi, of pushing the 22-year-old to keep playing despite of his hip injury concerns during the Madrid Open. He admitted, “Will be sad if Sinner misses RG, man I love watching him compete.

But Koeing also added, “One thing I’ll never understand though, is a player asking his team if he should continue…JS clearly in discomfort in Madrid, Simone urging him to carry on after Jannik said “it hurts” (groin area).” It will be interesting to see how the tennis world reacts after this recent indication of his other coach, Darren Cahill on social media.
