Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini is likely to sign a deal at La Dea, extending his stay at the Bergamo-based club.
There have been some doubts about Gasperini’s future at Atalanta and he has been linked with a move to Napoli in recent weeks. La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported today that Gasperini’s bond with Atalanta is much stronger than any other club can appeal him with. Considering the fact that they are in a Europa League semi-final and a Coppa Italia final, the club are still very much happy with the Italian.
While Napoli and some English clubs do like Gasperini, Atalanta do not want to let him go and a meeting will take place at the end of the season as it usually does. The idea is that he will extend his contract at La Dea till 2026, which will make sure that he would have spent ten years in Bergamo. The goal for the club is that regardless of whether Atalanta qualify for the Champions League or not, the relationship with Gasperini will be extended by another season.
