🇬🇧 | “I was born in Como, I live in Como, and I went to school in Como—Como is my life. The best memories of my life, of which I’m most proud, are the births of my daughters, Alice and Nina. Those were two wonderful moments for me, and I am very happy with how they have grown. However, I have another pride in my life, which is my city’s football team, Como 1907.”
Como native and DJ, Umberto Roverselli, known to his friends as ‘Chico’, shares the story of his roots in the city of Como. As a long-time Como 1907 fan, he spoke about the difference he feels in the city’s love for the hometown team nowadays compared to the past.
“I started to follow Como 1907 in 1975, and then continued during the period from ‘84, when we were in Serie A for five years. I had a really good time following the team.
The biggest difference from the past is that I’ve never seen so many young people—kids, boys, and girls—around the city wearing a Como 1907 jersey. It used to be more common for them to wear the jerseys of the more famous clubs. The work of the club and the historical fans has been valuable in teaching the new generations to don our colours.”
🇮🇹 | “Sono nato a Como, vivo a Como, ho fatto la scuola a Como, tutto qui, Sangue Comasco. I ricordi migliori della mia vita sono le nascite delle mie figlie, Alice e Nina. Sono stati due momenti bellissimi per me e sono molto contento di come sono cresciute. Ma ho un altro orgoglio nella mia vita, ed è per la squadra di calcio della mia città.”
Il comasco e DJ Umberto Roverselli, detto ‘Chico’, racconta la sua storia con forti radici nella città lariana. Umberto parla di una differenza chiara tra gli anni passati e oggi.
“Ho iniziato come molti nel 1975, per poi seguire il periodo dal ‘84, quando siamo stati in Serie A per cinque anni. Ho vissuto bene, diciamo.
La differenza più grande rispetto al passato è che non ho mai visto così tanti ragazzi, bambini e anche perfino ragazze, in giro per la città con la maglia del Como. Una volta era più comune che indossassero quelle delle squadre più blasonate. Il lavoro di società e dei tifosi storici è stato utile per insegnare alle nuove generazioni a vestire i nostri colori.”
