Inter CEO Beppe Marotta seems fairly sure about Simone Inzaghi’s stay at the club beyond this season after the club’s historic Serie A title win.
Goals from Francesco Acerbi and Marcus Thuram helped the Nerazzurri pick up a 2-1 win over Milan, who pulled one back through Fikayo Tomori but were down to nine men towards the end of the game. The Nerazzurri had a 14-point lead before they went into the game and their lead is now at 17 points.
This is Inzaghi’s first Serie A win and it comes after he had won the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana last season. He had also won the Coppa Italia at Lazio as well.
There have been doubts about Inzaghi’s future at Inter this season, but it seems as if he would stay at the club. Club CEO Beppe Marotta spoke to Sky Italia (via TMW) about the manager’s future, also stating that even striker Lautaro Martinez is likely to sign a deal.
“There will be no problems, they want to continue with us and we will reach the definition of the contract. From tomorrow we can think about the future. My future? I’m happy here.”
