Inter owner Steven Zhang is now set to refinance the Oaktree debt, with the deadline to pay off the debt fast approaching.

Inter have to pay off the €380 million debt that was taken from Oaktree by the 20th of May and it seems as if a solution has been found. Il Sole 24 Ore have reported (via Calciomercato) that a refinancing of the loan is now under the pipeline and key progress is being made.

Inter will now generate a new loan from Pimco for the same amount as the Oaktree fund and the deal between the two parties is set to be signed between the investment fund and the Inter president. It will be signed between Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

Lawyers at both the ends are now working to finalise the agreement and the expectation is that the new loan will only be a bridge loan, but Inter are preparing to bring in a new equity partner, with multiple parties already linked with a minority takeover.
