According to a planning application made to Dublin City Council, Kiko Milano is seeking to install brand signage at a unit opposite the Ilac Centre on Henry Street, between lingerie retailer Ann Summers and the H Samuel jewellers.

A spokeswoman for Kiko Milano said the beauty company had no comment on the plans for the Dublin shop, but added that she would “definitely be in touch if anything changes.”

In one of the documents submitted with the planning application, Dublin-based Studio 3 Architecture said Kiko Milano was “proposing to open its first Dublin store” at the location in the coming months.

In December, the company that submitted the planning application, Kiko Cosmetics Ireland Limited, was formed.

Directors of the Irish entity include Tobias Karlsson, the global real estate director of Kiko, Giuseppe Cassavago, a finance director at Kiko, and Paul Devin, Kiko’s managing director for the UK and Ireland.

According to its website, Kiko Milano already operates one store in Ireland, on Belfast’s William Street South.

Last year, Henry Street in Dublin attracted several big names to set out their stall, bringing the north inner city shopping street back from a period of relative inactivity.

High-profile deals on the street included Foot Locker taking the former H&M store in the Ilac Centre, Dubray Books fitting out the former Dealz store on Mary Street, and Levi’s opening a flagship Irish store in the ex-Evans unit at the corner of Henry Street and Moore Street.

A report from last April in trade publication Fashion Network said Kiko Milano recorded revenue of €671m in 2022, up 42pc on the previous year. The report said the company had set an ambitious target of growing net revenue to €1.25bn by 2027.

Its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (Ebitda) tripled to €75m, up 30pc on pre-Covid levels.

Kiko Milano also shared extensive growth plans to bolster its store network to 2,000 locations. Fashion Network said the company planned to open 120 outlets by the end of last year, bringing its total shopcount to 1,100 across 75 countries.

Italian retail group Percassi owns Kiko Milano. The company also owns Womo and Bullfrog in cosmetics, Vergelio in footwear and Da30Polenta in the food service industry.
