Italy and Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini is now at risk of missing the European championships after picking up an injury in the recent Serie A clash.
La Dea recently played their last league game of the campaign against Fiorentina and the tie saw Scalvini pick up what seemed like a knee injury and he was taken off by Gian Piero Gasperini.
Sky Italia now state that there is a doubt about whether the Italian will play at the Euros or not. The first indications regarding the injury are not positive and that is not a good sign for the Azzurri and the defender. Currently, it seems to be a knee sprain but further tests will show whether there is any ligament damage or not.
Further tests will take place on Tuesday or Monday and they will determine if the youngster will be fit for the Euros or not. Scalvini should’ve ideally joined the Italy squad by the 3rd of June but he hasn’t now and it now remains to be seen who Luciano Spalletti calls up as a potential replacement.
