Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee’s future in Serie A has been called into question in recent weeks but he has revealed that he is only focusing on the Rossoblu right now.
Bologna have qualified for the Champions League already and Zirkzee will play in the competition for the first time since doing that for Bayern Munich during his time in Germany. He has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Milan in recent weeks, having impressed a lot in the campaign.
Zirkzee recently spoke to Corriere di Bologna (via TMW) about his future and he stated that he is only focused on the Rossoblu and he will think about his future after a vacation.
He said: “At the moment my mind is only in Bologna. I want to recover from the injury and have some nice holidays in the States with my childhood friends and then we’ll see what happens.”
The Dutchman, who hasn’t been called up to the Euros, spoke further about his future decision: “I would choose the best for the club. I will only do what makes sense in my heart.”
He also spoke about the idea of playing in the Champions League with Bologna next season and the Dutch striker said: “Exactly, that’s what I said and I repeat it. It’s clear that for me it would be wonderful to defend this goal achieved together. What we experienced in Piazza Maggiore was unforgettable.”
