Serie A giants Juventus are making progress in a move for Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo and a switch is slowly edging closer.
Fabiana della Valle has reported that Todibo was ‘annoyed’ at the fact that he couldn’t join Manchester United in a move that was all set to go through until UEFA Regulations stopped them from going through. The Frenchman had already packed his bags for the move.
But the Juve move is now progressing, with the defender having informed Nice of his desire to leave and has told them that he wants to join the Bianconeri only. There is an agreement over personal terms already, with Todibo set to earn €2 million per season excluding bonuses.
Juve’s talks with Nice have also taken place and official negotiations are on. United had an offer of €40 million accepted by Nice, but Juve do not want to pay that. As a result, they are a seeking an agreement on lower terms. Cristiano Guintoli initially tried to sign him on an initial loan deal with the option to buy but the approach was rejected.
Juve could now attempt to insert a player in the deal and that could be Nonge Boende. Tarik Muharemovic could also be offered, but talks will soon take place again, with Todibo keen to reunite with Khephren Thuram in Turin.
