Serie A giants Juventus have scouted Porto defender Wendell, as they look to sign a full-back in the summer.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported about Juve’s full-back situation, with the futures of Filip Kostic, Samuel Iling-Junior and Timothy Weah currently uncertain. Progress hasn’t been made regarding Weston McKennie’s extension, leaving Cristiano Guintoli to do some hardwork in the market and one name that interests the club is that of Wendell.
On Sunday, a Juve scout was present at Wembley to watch England take on Brazil where Wendell made his debut for the Selecao. His current Porto deal expires in the summer of 2025 and that is why Juve see this as a good opportunity for the market and Wendell is seen as a potential replacement for Alex Sandro.
He earns only €1 million per season at Porto and that wage is very much within Juve’s scale. His contract situation means that Porto will not ask for much and he is currently the cheapest option for that position in Juve’s shortlist. Atletico Madrid’s Reinildo is an expensive option and so is Maximilian Mittelstädt, who plies his trade with Stuttgart.
