The Partenopei seem all but set to lose Osimhen in the summer, with Paris Saint-Germain likely to land the Nigerian. But Napoli are already preparing themselves for losing the striker. La Gazzetta dello Sport state that while replacing Osimhen is a ‘complex issue’, it seems as if Lille’s David is the chosen one to be the proper replacement for the Nigeria international.
There is competition in the market for the Canada international and club CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis is yet to accelerate a move for the Lille man, with relations between the two clubs said to be very good.
Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez did seem like a proper replacement some weeks ago but Napoli faced problems when it comes to the Dutch club’s asking price, which is currently at about €60 million. The asking price for David is lower, since his current deal expires in the summer of 2025, making him a much more appealing target.
