According to an exclusive update by Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have constructed a late transfer window call as they make the initial contact with Juventus for Federico Chiesa. The Italian star was put on the market by The Bianconeri after he asked to be transferred this summer following a difference of opinion with the club’s management throughout last season.
Premier League clubs were hovering around the 26-year-old but it was The Reds who made the official approach. Having spent little over this window, Liverpool have the necessary financial power to materialise Chiesa’s arrival within a short span of time and they could avoid deadline day drama.
Liverpool are now exploring details of presenting the deal to Juventus as a permanent transfer is the solution. The Merseyside giants are set to sign the player on cut-price but The Old Lady are unlikely to let him go for a fee less than €60 million, the amount paid by Juventus for him.
