From 16th to 24th November it will take place in all the Italian embassies in the world the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World (SCIM). This year Adriana Sirone and Emanuele Gregorio from the restaurant “Casa e Putia” They will represent the Slow Food Alliance of Messina, invited by the Italian Embassy in Tunis from 20 to 24 November.
In the name of the city of Messina, the delegation will tell the gastronomic connections between Sicily and North Africa and will participate in the events organized by the Ambassador both at his headquarters and at the hotel school in Tunis; also cooking appointments and presence at events and forums.
Mayor Federico Basile met today, via remote connection, the Italian Ambassador to Tunis, Fabrizio Saggio, to thank him for the welcome he has given to the city of Messina through Slow Food. Together with the Tourism Councillor Enzo Caruso and Nino Mostaccio, President of Slow Food Messina, the lines of a future collaboration on food were drawn up as a cross-cutting element to start concrete policies of sustainable tourism, as well as to combat climate change and socio-economic hardship.
Tunis is the ancient Carthage, founded in 44 BC by Julius Caesar and Mamertino is considered the wine of Julius Caesar. A twinning between the cities will start and will materialize, shortly, in the chorus of events of “Sicily European Region of Gastronomy 2025”.
