Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis was heard by the Prosecutor today in the false accounting case involving striker Victor Osimhen.
The case can be traced back to the time when Osimhen had joined Napoli from Lille and the Partenopei had offered cash plus four players in the deal. But the accusation and investigation surrounds the fact that the Serie A giants had inflated the values of the players to reach the asking price.
La Gazzetta dello Sport today state that De Laurentiis was at the Rome prosecutor’s office earlier today during midday and he was heard as part of the false accounting case. He was accompanied by his lawyer Fabio Fulgeri, as they answered questions about the case.
De Laurentiis himself is under investigation for the transfer and isn’t currently under trial. As of now, De Laurentiis and the entirety of the Napoli board is also under investigation as part of the saga. The documents of the false accounting case were initially with the prosecutors in Naples but they were transferred to Rome later.
