Napoli CEO Aurelio De Laurentiis criticised the players and the manager following Napoli’s defeat to Empoli.
Monica Scozzafava of Corriere della Serra via Calcio Napoli 24 reports that Aurelio De Laurentiis was furious after the end of the first half against Empoli and went down to the locker room to criticise the players.
There was a heated confrontation between the coaching staff and the players and then he spoke harshly to every player for their subpar performance. He could not tolerate the attitude of the team as they lacked the momentum to respond after conceding and ultimately suffered their tenth loss of the season.
De Laurentiis took the blame upon himself in front of the media stating: “It’s all my fault”. With these words, he indicated keeping faith in some of the players during the winter transfer window, who have not been able to perform as per the standards.
A big reshuffle in the squad is expected this summer as multiple players are on the outgoing list.
