Serie A giants Napoli are making progress in an attempt to hand Khvicha Kvaratskhelia a new deal at the club.
Rumours have suggested in the past that the Partenopei have been trying to hand the Georgian a renewal, but haven’t made any progress. But it seems as if breakthrough has been made in this regard.
Daniele Longo has reported that attempts to hand the winger a new deal are now heading in the right direction and a vital turning point was reached fairly recently. Indirect contacts took place between the two clubs and the feeling is that an agreement is close, with a decisive meeting scheduled between them at the end of the season.
Napoli do not want to lose both Kvaratkhelia and Victor Osimhen in the same window and since they can’t stop Osimhen from departing, they are making notable efforts to keep the Georgian. They could be willing to hand a wage of about 4.5 million per season, essentially quadrupling what the player currently earns.
Two issues to be resolved are the length of the contract and the addition of a potential release clause in the deal, which Aurelio de Laurentiis wants to keep at a high level.
