The Athletic had recently reported about Napoli’s interest in McTominay and reports in Italy have now confirmed those to be true.
Gianluca di Marzio has reported that while Napoli are one step away from signing Billy Gilmour, Giovanni Manna has an interest in McTominay.
The Partenopei had put forward a loan deal for the midfielder after speaking to Man Utd but the Red Devils didn’t open up to the possibility.
Having said that, Sky Italia hint at the fact that the move might not be dead in the water yet. Michael Folorunsho could yet exit the club and he seems to be edging close to a move to Lazio. This could lead to Napoli making another attempt for the Scotsman, with Jens Cajuste’s exit also yet to be defined after his Brentford move fell through.
