Serie A side Napoli have now started contract talks to keep winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia at the club in the long term.
Rumours in recent weeks have linked Kvaratskhelia with a move to Paris Saint-Germain and reports in France yesterday mentioned an agreement over personal terms.
But Gianluca di Marzio has stated (via CN24) that while PSG do like Kvaratskhelia, contract talks between Napoli and Kvaratskhelia’s agent have now started off. PSG are, Di Marzio says, pushing to sign the Georgian as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe but the Partenopei are keen on handing him a new deal.
Club sporting director Giovanni Manna has spoken to Kvaratskhelia’s agent Mamuka Jugheli to initiate the steps towards an extension and even La Gazzetta dello Sport yesterday stated that both Jugheli and Manna were in Milan and had a meeting, during which it was informed to the agent that his client is not for sale under Antonio Conte.
The incoming Italian boss sees Kvaratskhelia as a key part of his project and is desperate to keep him.
