Napoli submit new offer in hopes of striking agreement with Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku

As the Partenopei seek to acquire reinforcements imminently prior to the transfer window closing, Napoli have submitted a verbal offer to Premier League giants Chelsea with the aspirations of securing a deal for coach Antonio Conte’s primary target Romelu Lukaku.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that whilst Napoli remain eager to obtain the Belgian marksman prior to selling Azzurri want-away Victor Osimhen, the Neapolitan club have provided an offer of €25m plus an additional €5m in bonuses.

At the moment, the London Blues are seeking a transfer fee of €43m for the former Inter and Roma goal-scorer. However, Napoli hope that their offer can help shorten the distance separating both clubs whilst they wait for Chelsea’s response to their fresh bid.

With the Nigerian hit-man keen on parting ways with Napoli, Italian tactician Antonio Conte is extremely enthusiastic about reuniting with Lukaku in Naples following their marvellous two seasons together at Inter, in which they helped the Nerazzurri clinch the the 2020-2021 scudetto, which the club’s first league title in eleven years.
