Serie A side Napoli are working to extend Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s contract with a high salary and the player is keen to stay.
According to a report by La Repubblica via Calcio Napoli 24, Antonio Conte’s appointment at Napoli was enough to convince Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to become a key contributor to the club’s long-term project. The Partenopei are set to reward him for his performances with a contract until 2028 and a major salary increase.
Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis wants to insert a hefty €130 million release clause in the Georgian’s new contract, similar to the one in Victor Osimhen’s deal.
Conte considers Kvaratskhelia central to his vision at Napoli and has no desire to leave him out. There is constant contact between the club and the player’s entourage as the Neapolitans will look to lock down one of their best to avert any interest from other European clubs.
The 23-year-old scored 11 goals and registered six assists amidst an underwhelming Napoli season but never ceased to amaze the supporters with his fighting mentality.
