Inter will aim to clinch the Scudetto with a win over their neighbourhood rivals Milan tonight at the San Siro.
Milan have experienced a downtrend in performances ahead of this high-profile match but they will look to get back to winning ways in the best possible against the league leaders. The Rossoneri will hope to spoil Inter’s Scudetto party but it is going to be a tough ask from them. Stefano Pioli is set to be sacked at the end of the season after failing to progress to the Europa League semis and Milan CEO Gerry Cardinale has already initiated talks with former Spain head coach Julen Lopetegui. Simon Kjaer, Malick Thiaw and Pierre Kalulu are out with respective injuries as Matteo Gabbia and Fikayo Tomori are expected to partner in defence.
Meanwhile, Inter fans will crowd the stadium in hopes of celebrating winning the Scudetto at the end of the game. Manager Simone Inzaghi will instruct his players to keep calm throughout the match as he is aware that the team might be overwhelmed by the occasion and slip up in the derby. Goals from Marcus Thuram and Hakan Calhanoglu salvaged a draw in the Nerazzurri’s previous outing against Cagliari. They departed from the Champions League last month after collapsing in the penalty shootout versus Atletico Madrid but Inter fans will be out in full force tonight to see their team lift the Serie A title.
Here are the predicted line-ups for the match:
Milan (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Tomori, Gabbia, Hernandez; Bennacer, Reijnders; Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Leao; Giroud
Inter (3-5-2): Sommer; Pavard, Acerbi, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Martinez
