Sassuolo star Domenico Berardi is currently said to be at risk of missing the European championships for Italy in the summer.
Berardi had returned to action against Verona earlier today and he had just recovered from an injury which had kept him out for a month and a half. Verona picked up a vital 1-0 win over Sassuolo, who have had three different manager in the last three games.
But Berardi picked up what looked like a serious Achilles tendon injury during the game and he was taken off quickly, as the Italian seemed to be in tears. He was even hugging the Sassuolo medical staff in what was a rather emotional moment for the player, who has been one of the club’s most important player over the years.
Sky Italia state that he could now be in doubt for the European championships for the Azzurri, who have always used the winger as a vital player through the years. More updates are yet to emerge, but it does seem like a serious injury.
