Porto boss Sergio Conceição is set to attempt to convince his Portuguese club about a move to Milan in the summer.

The Portuguese seems to be Milan’s key target as manager for next season and Stefano Pioli is set to depart the Rossoneri in the summer.

Luca Bianchin has reported that Conceição will meet new Porto president Andre Villas-Boas later today, with the ex-Tottenham boss likely to take office at around 12pm today and his schedule is already booked. The objective of the meeting with the club manager is to discuss whether they want to continue together.

Conceicao, meanwhile, has his eye on a Milan move and is hoping that the Rossoneri make their approach soon. He believes that he has an excellent chance of becoming the club’s next manager, with Jorge Mendes already working for him.

Julen Lopetegui will now definitely not be the club’s next manager and he will be heading to West Ham. Milan’s decision to pull out of the move was communicated by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who had a meeting with the Spaniard last week and after that, he told the club’s higher-ups that they should pull out.

Conceicao’s wages are well within Milan’s range and while Paulo Fonseca is still very much an option, but the Porto boss is currently the leading candidate to become the Rossoneri’s next manager.
